Do I need a referral to see a Clinical Psychologist?

Can I get a rebate from Medicare for my sessions?

Yes, if you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you will get a rebate of $141.85 per session from Medicare. This rebate applies to up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Can I use my private health fund to pay for my sessions?

Many private health insurance providers offer rebates for psychological services. Check with your insurer to confirm your coverage and eligibility.

Are the sessions confidential?

All of your personal details and medical information will remain completely confidential at all times unless:

1 - You consent to the disclosure of information to specific other parties.

2 - Failure to disclose the information would place you or another person at risk of harm.

3- The information is subpoenaed by a court.

Additionally, if you are receiving rebates from Medicare using a  Mental Health Care Plan  all psychologists are required to send a brief progress report to the referring GP after six sessions, and a final report after ten sessions.

Your privacy is a top priority. Ashley adheres to strict confidentiality and data protection protocols.  Records are securely stored, and Telehealth sessions are conducted on encrypted platforms to ensure your information remains safe.

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

The cancellation policy states that you will be charged the full fee for any scheduled session that you fail to attend, and for any sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice.

Credit card details are obtained at the first session and will be used to recover any fees owing for unattended or late-cancelled sessions.

Standard sessions are typically 50 minutes. However, longer or shorter appointments can be arranged based on individual needs.

How do I access my session?

A link will be sent to you for the appointment via email. At the time of your appointment, you just click on the link in your email and join your session with Ashley.

What happens in the first session?

In your first session, we will discuss your concerns, goals, and background information. Together, we will create a personalised treatment plan. Subsequent sessions will focus on implementing strategies, tracking progress, and adapting the plan as needed.
